The number of enterprises achieving and being recognized as Vietnam National Brand increased from 30 enterprises in 2008 to 172 enterprises in 2022.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien signed Decision No. 237/QD/BCT approving the Projects to implement the Vietnam National Brand Program in 2024.
To effectively implement the National Brand Program in 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has assigned the Trade Promotion Agency to preside over and act as the focal point for organizing, managing the use of funds, performing tasks, ensuring progress and efficiency in accordance with current norms and regulations. At the same time, inspect and monitor the progress and implementation of the plan and periodically report to the Ministry's leaders.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Decision No. 237/QD/BCT on approving projects to implement the Vietnam National Brand Program in 2024 includes a number of projects with main contents such as improving the capacity to build, develop, and manage brands for enterprises to meet the criteria of the Program; promoting the Vietnam National Brand Program associated with promoting brands and products achieving the Vietnam National Brand.
The Vietnam National Brand Program was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 253/2003/QD-TTg dated November 25, 2003, assigning the Ministry of Industry and Trade as the standing agency, responsible for coordinating with ministries and branches to implement it.
After 20 years of implementation, the Vietnam National Brand Program has achieved encouraging results, increasing the number of enterprises achieving and being recognized as Vietnam National Brands from 30 enterprises in 2008 to 172 enterprises in 2022.
This is a unique, long-term and specific trade promotion program of the Government to build and develop national brands by supporting businesses to build and develop strong brands in the economy. Thereby, it aims to promote the image of Vietnam as a country with quality goods and services, build prestige and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses in the domestic and international markets.
