The set of 70 paintings was selected by the Art Council from more than 500 works by nearly 300 authors across the country participating in the creative contest from October 26, 2023.
The Department of Grassroots Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has released a set of propaganda posters to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).
Accordingly, the set of 70 paintings was selected by the Art Council from more than 500 works by nearly 300 authors across the country participating in the creative contest from October 26, 2023.
The propaganda posters were widely distributed to promote to the public the great stature and significance of the Dien Bien Phu victory in particular and the resistance war against French colonialism in the struggle for national independence, national unification and national liberation.
The works also honor the leadership, correct and creative political, military and diplomatic lines of our Party that contributed to that great victory.
Each painting also contributes to the propaganda and education of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and the spirit of great national unity. At the same time, it honors and expresses gratitude for the great contributions of the armed forces and all classes of people; promotes the tradition of patriotism and the strength of great national unity.
This coming May, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) will preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organize an art exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
The exhibition is expected to display about 70 - 90 works in the genres of painting, graphics and sculpture at the Center for Appraisal and Exhibition of Fine Arts and Photography (No. 29 Hang Bai, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi).
The exhibition will introduce paintings and sculptures by many artists and sculptors on the theme of Dien Bien Phu Victory, historical events, people who contributed to the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 and the country's achievements in innovation.
Through the exhibition, the Organizing Committee hopes to arouse patriotism, national pride and determination to build and defend the Fatherland in the new era.
The exhibition is also an opportunity for art lovers to review valuable historical lessons of the nation, promote the patriotism of artists in creating many works on the theme of revolutionary war, and contribute creative talent on the cultural front.
