Today, November 11, the Ministry of Information and Communications and Vietnam Post Corporation issued a stamp set commemorating the 100th birthday of musician Phan Huynh Dieu, including 1 sample with a face value of 4,000 VND.

The stamp set has a size of 43 x 32 mm, and is available on the postal network from November 11, 2024 to June 30, 2026.

The stamp set was designed by artists Pham Quang Dieu and Le Khanh Vuong (Vietnam Post Corporation). The main image on the stamp is a simple portrait of musician Phan Huynh Dieu, next to the song "Doan Ve Quoc Quan".-One of the immortal works of the musician on a warm color background so that we can have a little reminiscence and reflection about the talented musician.

Musician Phan Huynh Dieu (November 11, 1924 - June 29, 2015) was born and raised in Da Nang city, and is one of the representative musicians of 20th century Vietnamese music.

He started his musical career in the 1940s. After the success of the August Revolution, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which became an unforgettable memory for every Vietnamese person.

Those sacred moments were recorded by many musicians in revolutionary songs, becoming songs that go through the years, living forever with the history of the nation, including the song "National Defense Army" by musician Phan Huynh Dieu.

The song is like a flame of patriotism, inspiring the fighting spirit and protection of the Fatherland of the Vietnamese army and people.

Musician Phan Huynh Dieu stands out with his diverse composition style, from revolutionary songs to love songs, children's music...

He has demonstrated his sensitivity in capturing people's thoughts and feelings in each historical context, thereby composing works that have a widespread influence in musical life.

His music not only reflects reality but also evokes profound human values. Songs such as "Night Stars," "Life is Still Beautiful," "Day and Night March," "Konia Tree Shadow," "You at the Head of the River, I at the End of the River," "Threads of Memory, Threads of Love," "Boat and Sea," "Sunbeams," "Tiny Trumpet Team," "Remembering Uncle Ho's Grace" are examples...still lingers in the hearts of many generations of music lovers...

Throughout his life devoted to art, Phan Huynh Dieu has been respected and loved by both professionals and the public. He is a role model for generations of young musicians, inspiring them in their journey of artistic creation.

With his great contributions to the development of Vietnamese music, in 1988, he was awarded the Third Class Independence Medal by the State.

In 2000, he was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize by the State for his works: "National Guard Corps," "Love in the Letter," "Boat and Sea," "Night Stars" and "Shadow of the Kơ nia Tree."
