On the evening of October 23, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics chaired and coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the Award Ceremony of the second Political Writing Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in 2022, to commend and honor authors/groups of authors with excellent works and groups with high achievements in the contest.
Attending the award ceremony were Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Nguyen Xuan Thang, Head of the Steering Committee of the Competition; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Nguyen Trong Nghia and leaders of the Central Steering Committee 35, central departments, ministries and branches.
The contest has created a wide influence, the oldest author is 100 years old, the youngest is 16 years old; in particular, the contest has the participation of a number of foreign scholars with good quality works.
The contest is a continuation of the success of the political writing contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in 2021, expanding in scale and raising it to a national level.
The purpose of the contest is to continue to affirm the important position and role in social life of the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation; to fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; to raise awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members and people; to continue to discover and train, foster and train forces participating in the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
The contest also provides scientific arguments and forms a rich and quality source of writing, directly serving the propaganda work, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views; protecting and propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, especially the contents of the Party's 13th National Congress Documents and the resolutions of the 13th Central Conference, disseminating the content of the book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Speaking at the contest report, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Hai Binh said that the Contest Organizing Committee held a press conference to launch the Contest on March 1, 2022, posting information about the Contest on Vietnam Television, major central and local news agencies and newspapers.
The contest has received close attention and direction from provincial, municipal and central party committees, and the important role of Steering Committee 35 and Propaganda Committees at all levels.
Many units and localities have organized and launched the Contest extensively, with creative and effective implementation methods, such as the Central Military Commission (with 3 rounds of competition from the grassroots level to the entire army), Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Party Committee of Central Agencies, Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Da Nang...
After more than 8 months of launching, the contest has created a wide spread in the political system across 63 provinces and cities nationwide with 116,252 entries.
There are 15 units/localities that received 1,000 or more works, typically the Central Military Commission with 56,243 articles, Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee with 10,577 articles, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics with 7,230 articles, Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee with 6,883 articles, Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee with 6,450 articles, Hanoi City Party Committee with 5,488 articles...
After receiving the entries, the units/localities screened and evaluated them in many rounds and at many levels, selecting the best quality works to submit to the Central level contest.
The Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the contest have established a Jury consisting of experienced and prestigious scientists and journalists, organizing the scoring of two preliminary and final rounds in the form of independent scoring for each work and conducting duplicate scanning using anti-plagiarism software to ensure the objectivity and scientific quality of the contest.
A noteworthy point in this year's contest is the very responsible participation of not only the propaganda staff, staff of research and political theory teaching agencies, and press reporters, but also a large number of cadres, party members, teachers, armed forces, and people from all walks of life.
Many veteran party members actively participated in the contest, with articles expressing enthusiasm, high responsibility and deep trust in the Party's leadership, the State's management role, socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam (the oldest author is 100 years old, in Hai Phong city).
A team of young people, students from many universities, colleges and even high school students enthusiastically participated in the contest (the youngest author was 16 years old, from Dong Thap province).

In particular, the contest has the participation of a number of foreign scholars with high quality works, highly appreciated by the Professional Council.
Besides the spreading factor, the contest has high professional quality with many works deeply expressing the Party's spirit and fighting spirit, following the motto of closely combining "building" and "fighting", "using beauty to eliminate ugliness."
The entries closely follow emerging theoretical and practical issues in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against current erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
After completing the judging process, the Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee, and the Jury will meet, evaluate, and carefully review each work, selecting the best works and the most outstanding groups to award prizes.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the second essay writing contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in 2023, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the success of the 2022 contest is the basis for affirming that the Central Steering Committee 35 together with agencies, units and localities have actively participated with many initiatives and effective methods.
Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that the success of the contest continues to create new momentum in continuing to implement Resolution 35 of the 12th Politburo, while creating an important theoretical and practical basis to continue to evaluate and summarize the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints in the past time, and proposing appropriate orientations and solutions to improve the effectiveness of implementing this important political task in the coming time.

On this occasion, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that agencies, units and localities should continue to foster positive factors discovered through the contest to form a widespread network and team to serve the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation; at the same time, continue to further improve the lines of political articles in newspapers and magazines with tight logic, sharp and convincing arguments to form a mainstream, positive information flow, proactively meeting the needs of the public; continue to diversify media products aimed at different audiences, especially young people, students and pupils.
Press and media agencies need to pay more attention to building a solid team of collaborators and reporters on this topic as well as building a large, high-quality successor team to meet the requirements in the new context.
At the award ceremony, the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the contest awarded 102 individual prizes; the Magazine category had 52 prizes, including 7 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 15 C prizes and 20 Encouragement prizes), including two works by foreign authors (China, USA) winning A prizes; the Newspaper category had 50 prizes, including 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 15 C prizes, 20 Encouragement prizes.

After more than 8 months of launching, the contest received over 116,000 entries, of which Hai Duong had nearly 1,000 entries.
20 authors/groups of authors who are members of the Youth Union and young people with good quality articles will be awarded the potential prize. The Competition Steering Committee will award prizes to the oldest and youngest authors participating in the competition.
The Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the contest also awarded 15 Outstanding Collective Awards to agencies, units, and localities that launched the contest extensively and had many good quality articles.
