The Golden Joy of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation with Wrestling and Sepak Takraw

The Sepak Takraw team won the first Gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games in the Women's Doubles event when they topped the group with 3 wins and 1 loss, with the same score as Indonesia and Myanmar but with a better sub-index. This is the 109th Gold medal of the Vietnamese delegation.

Early afternoon of May 15, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation attending the 32nd SEA Games received good news in a row: 3 Gold medals in Wrestling and Sepak Takraw.

At the Chroy Changvar Convention Center Hall E in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, wrestler Dang Thi Linh won both matches against her opponents from Indonesia and Singapore, thereby winning the Gold medal in the women's 76kg category.

Similarly, teammate Lai Dieu Thuong also easily defeated her Lao and Cambodian opponents in the women's 68kg weight class and won the Gold medal.

Previously, in Sepak Takraw, Nguyen Thi Yen, Tran Thi Ngoc Yen and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen won the Gold medal in the Women's Doubles event, leading the group with 3 wins and 1 loss. The Vietnamese team had the same score as Indonesia and Myanmar, but had a better sub-index.

On the journey to conquer the Women's Doubles Gold Medal, Vietnam defeated Cambodia 2-0, Laos 2-0, defeated Myanmar 2-1 and only lost to Indonesia 1-2. Indonesia missed out on the Gold Medal when they lost to Myanmar in the match this morning.

From the morning of May 15 until now, athletes in Fencing, Wrestling and Sepak Takraw have brought home 4 more Gold medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, bringing the total number of Gold medals of the entire delegation to 111.
