Samsung's Galaxy Ring is said to start at 449 euros (12.3 million VND) in France, nearly double that of its rival Oura Ring Gen 3.
The smart ring is expected to be announced by Samsung at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris. Samsung does not typically convert currencies when pricing products in different markets, but at current exchange rates, that equates to $485.
The information is surprising because previous sources said that the Galaxy Ring would be in the range of 300-350 USD. This is considered a reasonable price, equivalent to popular smartwatch models today. The biggest competitor of the Galaxy Ring is the 3rd generation Oura Ring, which also has a starting price of 299 USD.
Samsung's smart ring is also expected to come with an optional health tracking and analytics subscription like Oura and Fitbit, costing less than $10 per month.
