The hot atmosphere in France will certainly become more stifling when the host plays Argentina in the men's football quarter-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Henry meets Mascherano again, Julian Alvarez plays against Lacazette, Olise competes with Thiago Almada..., small battles inside the quarter-final match between Olympic France and Olympic Argentina.

The Paris 2024 Olympic quarter-finals between France and Argentina promises to be a high-intensity match, as well as a tense one off the pitch.

The rivalry between the world's two top football powers is growing, especially after the 2022 World Cup final.

France do not have any players who have participated in the 2022 World Cup. On the other side, Argentina's squad has world champions Rulli, Alvarez and Almada.

The French have been calling on the young players led by Olise - a new recruit who has just joined Bayern Munich - to help their seniors collect their debt from Qatar.

At Bordeaux Stadium, the battle for a semi-final ticket to the 2024 Summer Olympics is more than just a football match.

Either continue to aim for the laurels, after the final at Parc des Princes on August 9, or fall into tragedy and say goodbye to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

France, along with Japan, are the only teams to have won all of their games at the Olympics, scoring the most goals (7) and keeping clean sheets.

France has never had this achievement in an Olympic event. However, partly because coach Henry's team faced weak opponents.

The match against Argentina will have a different meaning, with huge psychological pressure on both teams.

Argentina plays better with each match

France are looking for their first gold medal since 1984. Meanwhile, Argentina are at least in the Olympic quarter-finals for the first time in 16 years.

In 2008, the last time Argentina reached the quarter-finals of an Olympic tournament, they went straight to the final and successfully defended their gold medal. Mascherano was a witness to history.

"I watched some of France's matches. They are very strong but also have problems, we will focus on exploiting that," Mascherano confidently said.

No one has scored against France yet. Fans are waiting to see if Argentina can do as Mascherano claims.

Expected lineup:

France (4-3-1-2): Restes; Sildillia, Bade, Lukeba, Truffert; Akliouche, Kone, Chotard; Olise; Lacazette, Mateta..

Argentina (4-4-2): Rulli; Lujan, Otamendi, Di Cesare, Soler; Simeone, Fernandez, Medina, Almada; Beltran, Alvarez.

Match odds: France handicap 1/4

Goal Odds: 2 1/4

Prediction: France win 2-1.
