iPhone 16 prototype appears

“I’m not the only one who really thinks the iPhone 16 is a pleasure to hold,” Majin Bu wrote on X, along with an image of what is believed to be the upcoming iPhone model. This is a popular account that has posted many accurate information about Apple devices.

Given the device's proportions to the hand, it's likely the regular iPhone 16. The model is black with a slightly roughened surface and a darker "Apple" logo embossed. PageGSMArenaIt is believed that this is a working prototype, rather than a model as previously shown in photos.

Previously, Majin Bu also posted the camera cluster components in the I-34 camera project for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The metal frame holding the two rear camera lenses is placed vertically instead of diagonally like the iPhone 13, 14 and 15. The renderings also show a similar design with two vertical cameras, located on a square rear convex cluster. The vertical camera cluster design was first applied by Apple on the iPhone X in 2017 and remained until the iPhone 12 generation.

The vertical setup is said to help Apple bring spatial video recording to the iPhone 16. Three-dimensional videos can be shown on the Vision Pro similar to the Pro and Pro Max versions.

In addition to changing the camera, the iPhone 16 will also change the silent mode toggle to an Action button like on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Apple may also equip the entire new iPhone range with a dedicated shutter button with force-sensing technology located on the right edge.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to be announced by Apple in September. In addition to the new button, the product is said to have a larger screen, equipped with the A18 Pro chip, the Pro version has a strong camera upgrade, supports Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advance connectivity, and uses a graphene cooling system. In addition, the iPhone 16 can support generative AI, allowing users to interact with chatbots or create text images right on the phone.
