Compared to the same holiday in 2022, there was 1 less case, 2 less deaths, and 1 less injury.

Of the above traffic accidents, 27 occurred on roads, killing 9 people and injuring 8 people, down 1 incident, down 1 death, down 1 injury compared to the same holiday in 2022. There was 1 railway accident, killing 1 person (in Thuong Tin - Hanoi), down 1 death, the number of incidents and injuries remained unchanged compared to the same holiday in 2022. There were no accidents on waterways.

Also according to the Traffic Police Department, if on the morning of April 29, the gateway area, highways, and national highways bordering Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were congested due to increased traffic volume and heavy rain, some areas were flooded, traffic collisions, vehicle incidents... then by 11:30 a.m. on April 29, traffic volume had decreased, and the roads were basically stable and clear.

The Traffic Police Department has arranged 4 working groups to guide, inspect and urge the work of ensuring traffic safety and order, preventing and resolving traffic congestion in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and related localities; deploying the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (Flycam) at the gateway area of ​​Hanoi city to promptly detect, approach and immediately resolve vehicle incidents, traffic collisions, and flexibly control traffic.

The Traffic Police Departments of localities and units directly under the Department have proactively arranged forces and means to strictly implement the direction of the Department's leaders and the Board of Directors; strengthened patrolling, controlling, commanding and controlling traffic, proactively coordinated with relevant forces, promptly resolved incidents to avoid traffic congestion; requested toll stations to release stations when there was congestion (in particular, the Rach Mieu Bridge Toll Station released stations 7 times). Therefore, basically, vehicles can move slowly according to traffic regulation to avoid serious and prolonged congestion.

Through patrol and control work, the Traffic Police of the local Public Security inspected, detected and handled 9,619 violations; imposed fines of VND 20.9 billion; temporarily detained 159 cars, 4,301 motorbikes, 30 other vehicles; revoked 2,180 driving licenses of all kinds. Of which, there were 3,430 violations of alcohol concentration; 1,791 violations of speed; 131 cases of overloading; 30 cases of exceeding the size limit; 6 cases of unauthorized vehicle modification; 5 cases of drug violations; 161 cases of carrying more people than the prescribed number.

The Highway Traffic Control Patrol Teams under the Department of Inspection recorded 19 violations, imposed fines of VND104.1 million, revoked licenses of 11 cases, and temporarily detained 1 vehicle.

Through the monitoring system of the Highway Traffic Control Patrol Teams, 315 violations were detected; 5 cases were stopped and violation notices were sent to 310 cases.

On the waterway, Waterway Divisions I and II of the Traffic Police Department and the Traffic Police Department of local Public Security inspected, detected and handled 107 violations, imposed fines of VND 129 million, and revoked licenses and practice certificates of 1 case.

On the railway, local traffic police inspected, detected and handled 5 violations, imposing fines of 3 million VND.
