After 15 days of implementing Decree 168, traffic accidents in Hai Duong have decreased in all three criteria of number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries compared to the same period last year and compared to the same period of the previous month.
Specifically, from January 1 to 15, 2025, there were 15 traffic accidents and collisions in the province, killing 5 people and injuring 13. Meanwhile, from January 1 to 15, 2024, there were 35 traffic accidents and collisions, killing 10 people and injuring 35. From December 1 to 15, 2024, there were 46 traffic accidents and collisions, killing 13 people and injuring 38.
Thus, compared to the same period in 2024, there were 20 fewer cases, 5 fewer deaths, and 22 fewer injuries. Compared to the same period in the previous month, there were 31 fewer cases, 8 fewer deaths, and 25 fewer injuries.
January 15 marks exactly one month of implementing the peak period of ensuring traffic safety and order, social order during the New Year, Lunar New Year and spring festivals in 2025. According to the Traffic Police Department, Hai Duong Provincial Police, from December 15, 2024 to January 15, 2025, the traffic police force in Hai Duong province detected and handled 9,273 cases of traffic safety violations; total fines of 30.1 billion VND, revocation of driving licenses of 1,587 cases, deduction of 540 driving license points.
Of these, there were 1,829 cases of alcohol concentration violations, 2,775 cases of speeding, 160 cases of overloading, 227 cases of running red lights, 11 cases of driving on the road with drugs in the body...
From January 1-15 alone, implementing Decree 168, the traffic police force in the whole province has handled 4,106 cases, fined 14 billion VND, revoked 203 driving licenses, deducted 540 points from driving licenses... Notably, there were 78 cases of running red lights (including 1 car, 77 motorbikes) that were heavily fined according to Decree 168. Compared to the time before applying the new penalty level, the average number of violations decreased by 40-60 cases/day.
