On the morning of the second day of Tet, many traditional markets in the province resumed operations. According to Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, in some markets such as Ninh Giang town, Ngoc Hoa in Vinh Hoa commune (Ninh Giang), Tuan Viet (Kim Thanh)... not many traders have resumed trading. The types of food sold are mainly vegetables, tubers, fruits, seafood... Prices of some types of food have increased slightly compared to the days before Tet.
Specifically, cauliflower is 10,000 VND/head, cabbage is 7,000-10,000 VND/head, kohlrabi is 7,000-8,000 VND/root, celery is 10,000 VND/bunch, mustard greens are 4,000-7,000 VND/bunch... These prices have increased by 1,000-3,000 VND compared to before Tet. Some vegetables and tubers have maintained their prices, such as green squash and pumpkin from 12,000-15,000 VND/kg, potatoes from 12,000-14,000 VND/kg.
Some types of seafood increased in price such as crispy carp at 150,000 VND/kg, up 10,000 VND/kg; grass carp at 75,000 VND/kg, up 5,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the prices of some types of meat and seafood remained stable such as beef at 240,000-290,000 VND/kg, tiger prawn at 250,000-450,000 VND/kg, catfish at 120,000 VND/kg, carp at 60,000 VND/kg, clams at 18,000-20,000 VND/kg.
According to some retailers, in recent years, consumer psychology has changed, no longer buying a lot of food to stock up for Tet but buying just enough because from the second day of Tet, food is sold at the markets.
