After recalling more than 400 E-class vehicles, Mercedes Vietnam (MBV) continues the program for domestically assembled and imported high-chassis models such as GLC, S-Class, GLS. The production time of these vehicles is between March and December 2022.

Specifically, a total of 474 Mercedes GLC 300 4 Matic (model number X253), S450 4 Matic, Maybach S450 4 Matic (model number V223), GLS 450 4 Matic, Maybach GLS 480 4 Matic and Maybach GLS 600 4 Matic vehicles have fuel pump assemblies that may not meet technical standards. The vehicle's fuel pump function may be impaired under certain conditions, or even stop working, leading to the vehicle stalling. MBV representative said that no accidents related to the above error of the fuel pump assembly of GLC, GLS and S-class vehicles have been recorded. The recall is a precautionary measure and will be carried out from September 2023 and last until the end of 2027.

Mercedes authorized dealers will receive, inspect and replace the fuel pump assembly for affected vehicles free of charge. Repair time for each vehicle is approximately 90 minutes.

With the fuel pump cluster error, MBV has recalled a total of more than 7,300 C-class, GLC, GLE, GLS, G 63... vehicles in 2023, a record year for the Vietnamese market in terms of the number of recalls with 46 cases and more than 53,800 vehicles affected. In terms of the number of recalled vehicles, Mercedes is only behind Hyundai in 2023 with 9,121 vehicles and 23,753 vehicles, respectively.
