On April 11, 2015, the Association of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers in 1972, Hai Duong province was established. The Association is a voluntary social organization of officers and soldiers of the armed forces who fought and served in the battle at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel front in 1972, currently living and working in Hai Duong.

The association currently has 951 members operating in 94 commune-level branches in 9/12 localities in the province. Ninh Giang district alone plans to establish the association in the first quarter of 2024. The remaining two districts, Tu Ky and Thanh Mien, continue to campaign for the establishment of the association.

The core members have been mobilized and gathered by the Traditional Liaison Committee of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers in Hai Duong province since 2012, of which 34% are war invalids and sick soldiers; not to mention many are victims of Agent Orange.

Over the past 8 years, the association at all levels has had many effective activities, contributing to encouraging and helping each other in life and local development. Every year, the association at all levels has paid attention to training and raising awareness for members through meetings. Most of the cadres and members, despite their old age and weak health, have been exemplary in implementing the Party and State's guidelines, policies, and laws, and actively participating in activities in their residential areas. Many members have been exemplary in leading movements to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and unite to build a cultural life in their hometowns. Many grassroots associations and members have actively helped each other escape poverty; paid attention to comradeship activities; and shown gratitude to those with meritorious services. At the same time, they have contributed to ensuring social security; maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area. The members have also taken the lead in the emulation movement "Exemplary grandparents, loyal children, and filial grandchildren".

The association has over 80% of its member families with a good standard of living, 97.5% of its member families achieving the title of cultural family. Typical examples include the association levels in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong City, Thanh Ha District, Cam Giang District, etc.

From 2015 to 2023, the association has supported more than 2.5 billion VND for comradeship activities. Of which, 48 savings books worth 480 million VND were donated to disadvantaged veterans and disabled children; 580 million VND was supported for the "Warm Spring for Humanity" program; 400 million VND was contributed to support the construction of 8 "comradeship shelters"; hundreds of gifts were given to disadvantaged and sick members; the construction of monuments of Regiment 48 - Thach Han, Long Quang Steel Pin (Quang Tri), An Thuong Martyrs' Cemetery - Cultural and Spiritual Park in Yen The (Bac Giang) ... The association at all levels has also supported hundreds of millions of VND for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control, supporting areas affected by natural disasters...

The activities of "full gratitude and full comradeship" of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972 of the province have aroused the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" in the community, especially for the younger generation.

In the coming time, all levels of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972, Hai Duong province will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, focus on propaganda, mobilization, and gathering members to actively participate in building the Party and government, contributing to maintaining political stability, order, and social security from the grassroots. Promote emulation to build a strong association, associated with improving the material and spiritual life of members.
