Hezbollah in Lebanon said it carried out multiple attacks on several Israeli military positions on June 1 after Israel intensified air strikes the night before.
Hezbollah said it carried out an airstrike using an explosive-laden unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) targeting Israeli officers and soldiers at the Yiftah barracks earlier in the day. The group said the airstrike was in response to a drone attack on a motorcycle in the Majdal Selm area that injured two people earlier. The Israeli military also said two Hezbollah members operating in Majdal Selm were hit by the airstrike.
Also on June 1, Hezbollah announced that it had intercepted a Hermes 900 UAV. Earlier, the Lebanese news agency reported that Israel had intensified its attacks on the evening of May 31, including several airstrikes that resulted in casualties and major damage at several locations near the border between the two countries. According to the source, at least one woman was killed, many others were injured and one house was completely destroyed in the UAV airstrike in the suburb of Adloun.
The Israeli military said its warplanes had hit "important Hezbollah assets" in several areas of southern Lebanon, including Adloun, 30 km from the border, in response to projectiles fired into northern Israel.
Since the Hamas-Israel conflict broke out on October 7, 2023, Hezbollah has carried out numerous attacks on Israeli bases to show support for Palestine. Statistics show that after 8 months of violence, nearly 450 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 80 civilians. Meanwhile, the Israeli government recorded at least 14 soldiers and 11 civilians killed in the conflict with Hezbollah.
