A US-UK coalition drone has attacked Yemen's Kamaran Island in the Red Sea. There are no reports of casualties.
Al-Masirah TV channel operated by Houthi forces said on August 12 that drones from the US-UK coalition attacked Yemen's Kamaran Island in the Red Sea.
However, al-Masirah channel did not report casualties or provide further details. The US-UK coalition has not commented on the Houthi statement.
Kamaran is Yemen's largest island in the Red Sea, previously used by the Houthis to launch attacks as well as hide missile and drone arsenals.
Since the conflict between Hamas and Israel broke out in October 2023, Houthi forces have carried out anti-ship ballistic missile and drone attacks on Israeli-linked ships passing through the Red Sea in a show of support for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In response, the US-UK coalition conducted airstrikes and missile attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen.
However, the move prompted the Houthis to step up attacks on commercial vessels and naval vessels from both the US and UK.
