Four airstrikes were reported to have targeted the port of Ras Issa, in the northwestern city of Hodeidah, and two others targeted the port of Midi in the neighboring Hajjah province, north of Hodeidah.

The new airstrikes come less than two days after Israeli airstrikes hit and destroyed fuel storage facilities and a power plant in Hodeidah.

The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, have carried out drone and missile attacks on Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November last year in protest against Israel's military action in Gaza.

Since January 2024, the US and British navies stationed in the area have conducted airstrikes and missile strikes against Houthi targets to deter the group’s attacks. This has also led to an increase in Houthi attacks on commercial vessels, as well as British and US naval vessels in the Red Sea.
