According to al-Masirah, the airstrikes targeted a radio building in the Al-Hawk district of Hodeidah city and the port of Salif. The channel said the attacks killed 16 people and wounded more than 30, but this figure could not be independently verified.

The US and British militaries said they had carried out strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen in an effort to prevent the group from further disrupting shipping in the Red Sea.
The US Central Command said the joint operation targeted a total of 13 Houthi-controlled sites, while the UK Ministry of Defense said the joint operation targeted three sites in the port city of Hodeidah that were believed to contain Houthi drones and surface-to-air weapons.

The Houthis have repeatedly used drones and missiles to attack commercial vessels in the vital shipping lanes of the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden since November last year to demonstrate their support for the Palestinians in the conflict in the Gaza Strip. In response to the Houthi attacks, the US and the UK then launched a joint military campaign against Houthi targets in Yemen.
