Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations exploits many sources of non-governmental aid

Speaking at the summary session, comrade Nguyen Duc Tuan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations highly appreciated the results achieved by the unit in the past time. In order to effectively exploit non-governmental aid sources and people-to-people diplomacy, in the coming time, comrade Nguyen Duc Tuan suggested that the unit advise the Provincial People's Committee to organize a high-level meeting between Hai Duong and Vientiane (Laos) provinces to sign joint cooperation documents; organize promotion conferences and meet non-governmental organizations to expand cooperative relations to seek more funding sources. Further diversify aid forms, direct donors to large-scale, sustainable and long-term projects. Expand aid attraction from embassies of countries, international organizations, and foreign enterprises operating in the province. Coordinate with member friendship associations to promote peace, solidarity, cooperation, and create solidarity and companionship with foreign enterprises and businessmen investing in the province. In 2022, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and its member organizations attracted and disbursed non-governmental aid of VND 15.7 billion. The implemented programs and projects all complied with the regulations of local authorities, and there were no violations. Notable among them was the project to build Chuan Thung Kindergarten, Kim Dinh Commune (Kim Thanh) with VND 5 billion sponsored by Good People International; COPION supported VND 2 billion to build 3 classrooms at An Son Primary School (Nam Sach), and implemented the project "Education to raise awareness of gender equality to prevent gender-based violence in the province" with a budget of VND 160 million at a number of schools...
