At the temple of female doctor Nguyen Thi Due in Van An ward, Chi Linh (Hai Duong), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched the 2025 Spring Tree Planting Festival and planted 200 trees of various kinds.
On the morning of February 13, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched the "Forever grateful to Uncle Ho" tree planting festival in the spring of At Ty 2025 at the temple of female doctor Nguyen Thi Due (Van An ward, Chi Linh city, Hai Duong).
Party Central Committee members: Nguyen Thi Tuyen, President of Vietnam Women's Union; Tran Duc Thang, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee attended.
Also attending were leaders of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Central Committees of the Vietnam Women's Union, representatives of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, female members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors and mass organizations.
The program was also attended by representatives of Women's Unions of neighboring provinces and cities.
Before launching the Tree Planting Festival, delegates performed a ritual of offering incense in memory of Dr. Nguyen Thi Due - the first and only woman to pass the doctoral exam in the feudal period of our country.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the Tree Planting Festival, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen called on all levels of the Women's Union, officials, members and all women nationwide to continue to respond to the tree planting movement, actively participate in environmental protection with specific and practical actions, plant good trees, and improve the quality of roads and streets managed by women.
Each female member becomes an active propagandist, spreading messages about the meaning of planting trees, protecting trees, and protecting the environment to each family, community and the whole society.
Continue to effectively implement and replicate meaningful models such as "Family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", "Green shady road", "Blooming road", "Each garbage pit - a green tree", contributing to creating more green spaces, livable countryside and urban areas.
Women's associations at all levels and members join hands to green open areas, renovate roads and public areas into green, clean and beautiful spaces; join hands to develop "Green tourism" and "Eco-tourism" models, contributing to creating a green, clean, beautiful and sustainable living environment for today and future generations.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates planted Nearly 200 trees around the temple area, including magnolia, frangipani, wind chime, camphor and some other types of trees and flowers.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union presented gifts worth VND66 million to 20 female party members who received the Party Badge and 30 women members with difficult circumstances in Chi Linh City; and presented a model of forest planting livelihood to 3 families of women members with 9,000 acacia trees worth VND18 million.
On the same day, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Hai Duong Provincial Women's Union visited and presented gifts to two 75-year-old female party members in Chi Linh City, Ms. Tran Thi Diem (born in 1931) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tiu (born in 1926).
From 2022, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union will launch a campaign for all levels of unions, members, and women nationwide to plant trees "Women cultivate the future - for the benefit of ten years of planting trees, for the benefit of a hundred years of cultivating people" with the spirit of "Each woman - a tree", "Each union base - a tree project".
As a result, since the beginning of the term, women nationwide have planted over 27 million trees; Women's Unions at all levels across the country have organized many activities to plant, care for and protect trees, contributing to creating green color in all regions of the country. In particular, the Women's Union of Hai Duong province planted over 160,000 flowers and fruit trees by 2023.
