Gender deviation

People who are born as the opposite sex due to biological factors suffer a lot, but homosexuals who pretend to be gay just because of distorted perception do not deserve that.

On January 6, defender Tran Thi Thu of the Vietnamese women's football team held a wedding with Nguyen Thi Thuong. This is the first time a Vietnamese women's football player has publicly held a wedding with a person of the same sex. Over the past time, Thuong has always been by Thu's side, supporting her career to achieve success.

Reading this story, I remember recently, an acquaintance told a story about her 9th grade daughter who was sitting and talking and accidentally said "when you grow up, you can marry a girl, now the internet is full of people of the same sex marrying each other, it doesn't matter". Many people in the family were shocked when the child was so indifferent and calm when expressing that thought. The shock was not because of discrimination against people of the same sex, but because since when did the child think that loving someone of the same sex is normal without thinking?

I always sympathize with homosexuals who are born without a normal sexual orientation like everyone else and therefore suffer disadvantages. Having had the opportunity to meet and talk with a lesbian in Hai Duong, I sympathize even more with the mental and physical pain they feel when they go against the gender they were born with. However, today's youth are being influenced by the internet and the surrounding environment, distorting their gender perception, causing the phenomenon of pseudo-homosexuality.

Browsing social networks like Facebook and Tiktok, I come across many posts about the lives of same-sex couples. There are couples that make me feel warm and happy for them because they are able to live with their “true gender” and find their true other half even though the law does not recognize this. There are couples that make me feel like they are just following the trend to attract views because these posts often attract more attention than usual. Could it be that these things have contributed to a part of today’s youth having a distorted perception of their sexual orientation?

Some children consider homosexuality normal and cool. Some children, because of the loss of a great deal of family affection and unstable personality, also easily seek emotional support from people of the same sex. And so, they become homosexual even though their bodies are not necessarily like that.

At that time, they did not know how their lives would be affected. Homosexuals really have to go through terrible mental pain when facing their families and society. Then there is the pain caused by gender reassignment surgery, cosmetic surgery, self-injection of hormones... Most parents and relatives have to endure so much pain to be able to accept their child's "new gender".

In Vietnam today, same-sex marriage is not prohibited by law but is also not recognized. At the 5th Session, the 15th National Assembly agreed to add the Gender Transition Law project proposed by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tri to the agenda for comments at the 8th Session (October 2024). Mr. Tri is currently the Head of the Drafting Committee. If passed, this law will be a solid legal basis for transgender people, contributing to preventing the phenomenon of fake homosexuality following the trend among some young people today.

Measures to avoid deviations in children's sexual orientation need to be educated in every family. A warm, loving family with few psychological shocks will be the condition for children's psychology to be stable, rich and self-controlled in the face of temptations. Sex education in schools also needs to be given more attention, implemented appropriately for each age so that children can be self-controlled and self-aware. Authorities also need to strictly control and handle negative content on social networks to avoid causing gender deviations among young people.
