On the evening of December 6, the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art held an Award Ceremony for works of theory and criticism of literature and art published in 2022.
Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; representatives of leaders of a number of central departments, ministries and agencies, and authors whose works were awarded the Prize.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts Nguyen The Ky said that, in carrying out the tasks assigned by the Central Party Secretariat and the leadership of the Central Propaganda Department, for many years now, at the end of the year, the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts has evaluated, appraised and awarded prizes to authors and groups of authors with high-quality monographs on literary and artistic theory and criticism; outstanding articles on literary and artistic theory and criticism; and press and publishing agencies with achievements in propagating and promoting cultural and artistic activities.
Through 8 times of awarding authors, units and individuals, this activity has become a cultural event attracting the attention of the cultural and artistic community nationwide, including theorists and literary and artistic critics; numerous literary and artistic creators; propaganda and promotion agencies; and a large public who love and appreciate culture and art.
“The Council's annual awards are increasingly of higher quality, more convincing and more widely spread, truly a prestigious and prestigious award of national significance,” Mr. Nguyen The Ky emphasized.
According to Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art Nguyen The Ky, the 9th Awarding Ceremony has a happy continuity between generations of people working in theory and criticism of literature and art, almost like a "transmission" of values, talents, enthusiasm, and experience from the previous generation to the next generation. Young people are gradually becoming more numerous, more confident, and more steady in their writing. They inherit, develop, and "breakthrough" more strongly in ideas, topics, and research methods in the 4.0 industrial era.
Most of the works and projects awarded this time have achieved high academic and artistic value; have made new and practical contributions to theory and practice; have had a positive effect in suggesting and guiding literary and artistic activities; contributed to orienting aesthetics and public reception; and participated effectively in refuting wrong and deviant viewpoints in the fields of culture and arts.
This 9th Awarding Round has 87 works, books, and articles selected from Central and local Literature and Arts Associations; publishers, and press agencies sent to the Council and continued to be screened and evaluated through a 4-step preliminary and final selection process. Among them, there are 16 works, research, theory, and criticism on culture in general; 31 works, works in the field of art; 40 works, works in the field of literature.
Based on the results of the Final Round Council, the Chairman of the Council decided to award prizes to 19 works, including level A: 1 work (book) for the work "Poetry - concepts and aesthetic nuances" by Professor - Doctor, People's Teacher Ma Giang Lan; level B: 4 works (3 books, 1 program); level C: 10 works (8 books, 2 articles/group of articles) and Encouragement level: 4 works (3 books, 1 program).
Of the 19 awarded works, 15 were individual works and 4 were group works. In addition, 11 agencies and units (publishing houses, press agencies) were also awarded for their contributions to the development of literary and artistic theory and criticism.
