Spreading friendliness and kindness in tourism helps promote the image and people of Hai Duong to tourists.
Pick up lost property and return it to its owner.
Having worked at Mao Dien Temple of Literature in Cam Giang district for many years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nen feels secure in her work because she has extra income from cleaning the site.
Mrs. Nen's situation is difficult, her husband died early, she had to raise two children alone. A few years ago, she suffered from a serious illness and had to borrow money everywhere to pay for treatment. During the Lunar New Year 2022, while cleaning the relic, she found a small bag among the dry leaves. When she opened it, she saw a lot of money inside. She immediately reported it to the Mao Dien Temple of Literature Management Board to find the person who dropped it. Afterwards, the relic management board found the owner of the property and returned it.
“Helping tourists get their property back makes me very happy and I hope they will come back here to visit many times,” Ms. Nen shared.
Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, an officer working at the Con Son-Kiep Bac special national relic site (Chi Linh), has also picked up valuable items that tourists have lost or forgotten many times. At such times, he proactively sought out the person to return them. Through social networks and the Management Board's broadcasting system, many tourists have received their items back. Mr. Vinh has received many thanks and good impressions from tourists.
Mr. Vinh said: “Many tourists after receiving their lost items want to repay me with money, but I don’t accept it. Having done good deeds, I feel comfortable in my heart. This is what everyone needs to do.”
Create sympathy for tourists
Friendliness and kindness will contribute significantly to creating a brand and sustainable development for tourism. From small actions, tourists will have confidence in a safe, friendly and hospitable destination.
According to Ms. Dinh Thi Lien, an employee of the Con Son-Kiep Bac special national relic site, if you want visitors to listen, the tour guide must be friendly, approachable, and create sympathy with visitors. Only then will they truly love the place they visit.
Understanding this, every year the Hai Duong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism regularly organizes training courses to improve knowledge and skills in welcoming tourists for those working in tourism, especially civilized behavior in welcoming tourists.
“If friendliness brings comfort during travel, kindness brings trust. I think every business or tourist destination needs these things,” said Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy, Director of Viet Flow Travel Company Limited.
In the coming time, to spread friendliness and kindness in the tourism industry, tourist sites and relics need to improve the quality of their services; eliminate haggling, seasonal price increases, and selling poor quality goods...
Each citizen also needs to be a "tourism ambassador" spreading good deeds at destinations to impress tourists. In return, tourists also need to respect local culture; protect the environment by not littering, not using polluting products when traveling...
