On June 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism established the Organizing Committee for the program to celebrate International Yoga Day (June 21) in Hai Duong and approved the program organization plan.
The program is implemented according to the official dispatch of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province and based on the request of the Embassy of India in Vietnam, aiming to raise awareness of the effects of Yoga on health, physical strength and spirit; promote the culture and people of Vietnam and India; develop the Yoga practice movement in Hai Duong. At the same time, promote the friendly and cooperative relationship between Hai Duong province and the Embassy of India in Vietnam, as well as between the people of Vietnam and India.
According to Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of the Indian Cultural Center, Embassy of India in Vietnam, Yoga originated in India about 2,000 years ago and has developed strongly all over the world, including Vietnam, as well as Hai Duong. Indian Yoga has been recognized by UNESCO as a discipline for everyone. In response to International Yoga Day, 15 provinces and cities in Vietnam have organized related activities.
Dr. Monica Sharma suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continue to pay attention to creating favorable conditions for the development of the Yoga practice movement in Hai Duong; at the same time, she suggested that relevant departments, sectors and localities closely coordinate to successfully organize the program to celebrate International Yoga Day in Hai Duong.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the organization of the program to celebrate International Yoga Day in Hai Duong is being carried out urgently, and members have been assigned specific tasks. The rehearsal is expected to take place early in the morning of June 29 at the Dong Xu Cultural Center Square (Hai Duong City). At this location, the program to celebrate International Yoga Day in Hai Duong will take place on the same evening, with the participation of about 400 people. This is the Yoga performance with the largest number of participants ever in Hai Duong. However, according to the proposal of the Embassy of India, the number of participants can be increased to 600 people.
The program to celebrate International Yoga Day in Hai Duong on the evening of June 29 is expected to have the participation of representatives of the Embassy of India; leaders of Hai Duong province, Hai Duong city; trainers, instructors, yoga practitioners, groups and individuals who love yoga in Hai Duong.
