Passionate about culinary experiences, Samy (German nationality) and his girlfriend have spent nearly two years traveling everywhere, enjoying unique dishes in each country they visit.
In Southeast Asia, Samy and his girlfriend have visited Thailand, Malaysia, etc. Vietnam is the place they spent the most time experiencing. Each trip of the couple here usually lasts for several months, mainly exploring the culture and cuisine in two locations: Da Nang and Hoi An (Quang Nam).
Most recently, Samy and his girlfriend had the opportunity to experience a 5-star tourist train from Hue to Da Nang. He booked a train ticket departing from Hue station at 7:45 and arriving at Da Nang station at 10:35.
The German tourist shared that he learned about this tourist train from the internet and was curious to try the journey of “connecting the heritage of Central Vietnam”. He arrived at Hue station early, at 7am, to drink a cup of coffee and explore the surroundings.
As the train was about to depart, Samy and his girlfriend were guided onto the train by the staff. He was surprised by the spacious, clean and beautiful space in each train car.
Sammy was delighted to see the artists performing Hue folk songs in the carriage decorated in the traditional royal style. Next to this carriage was the food carriage, serving many Hue specialties such as banh it, banh bot loc, banh beo, etc. along with various drinks for visitors to choose from.
Samy and his girlfriend grabbed some breakfast. They picked out bread, dumplings, banh beo and banh bot loc and returned to their seats.
The Western guest shared that because he went on a weekday, he found the number of customers to be quite low. This also helped him feel more comfortable because the space was not too cramped or noisy.
The couple enjoyed their meal and were surprised when the ship's staff introduced them to bread made from green banana flour instead of wheat flour like traditional bread.
In addition to the crust made from special ingredients, he was also impressed with the filling of meat, served with vegetables. “I have eaten banh mi many times in Vietnam, but this is the first time I have enjoyed banh mi made from green banana flour, which is quite unique. There is a microwave on the train for guests who want to heat the bread, so the crust is still crispy and delicious,” Samy commented.
He also likes the taste of banh bot loc and banh beo. He praised the “soft, juicy, refreshing banh beo” and the “fragrant, slightly chewy, shrimp-flavored” banh bot loc.
In addition to the delicious food, the two foreign tourists were also impressed with the beautiful scenery along the road. When the train passed Hai Van Pass, Samy kept exclaiming “wow”, “so beautiful”.
“I love the feeling of looking out and seeing the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. The scenery is really impressive, worthy of being called the most beautiful railway line in Vietnam,” said Sammy.
Samy commented that the trip took about 3 hours but he did not feel uncomfortable or tired because the train was equipped with soft seats and air conditioning. In addition, the seats were arranged opposite each other, right next to the window so that visitors could conveniently chat and enjoy the scenery.
It is known that there will be 2 pairs of trains traveling between Hue - Da Nang every day.
During the 3-hour train ride, visitors have the opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery on both sides of the road as the train passes through Lang Co Bay, Hai Van Pass, Tien Sa Beach...
The trains will stop at Lang Co station for 10 minutes for visitors to take check-in photos.
With 2 trains departing in the morning and afternoon from Hue to Da Nang and vice versa, visitors also have the opportunity to watch the sunrise and sunset on Lang Co Bay - one of the most beautiful bays in Vietnam and the world.
