Repairing the 33m long landslide on the Van Uc riverbank in Thanh Ha

According to the leader of Thanh Ha District People's Committee (Hai Duong), the landslide location may continue to collapse, so the Dike Management Department needs to soon consult with higher authorities to have a more secure handling plan.

On February 18, people in Vinh Cuong commune (Thanh Ha) completed the work of rebuilding the eroded bank of Van Uc river.

Previously, the riverbank at the location from k10+115 - k10+148 of Van Uc right dike, in Vinh Cuong commune, had a landslide of 33 m long, the width of the landslide encroached into the bank from 1 - 1.5 m, the vertical landslide was about 3 m deep compared to the current bank surface, the nearest landslide point was 33 m from the dike.

After inspection, Thanh Ha district leaders determined that this area could continue to erode and encroach deeper into the beach. District leaders requested people exploiting earthworms in this area to proactively build banks and stabilize production. Thanh Ha district Dike Management Department and Vinh Cuong Commune People's Committee continue to monitor and regularly report on the erosion of banks, proactively prepare means and materials for protection when incidents occur.

Thanh Ha District Dike Management Department has reported to Hai Duong Province Irrigation Department to inspect, evaluate and continue to take measures to handle the above eroded riverbank section.
