According to the People's Committee of Kim Thanh district (Hai Duong), up to now the district has achieved 6/9 criteria of an advanced new rural district.
The six criteria achieved include: transportation; irrigation, disaster prevention; electricity; economy; quality of living environment and security, order and public administration.
The three criteria that have not been met are planning (there is no detailed planning for the construction of functional areas for production support services); health, culture, education (the rate of people participating in health insurance has not reached 95%, the infrastructure of some medical stations has not reached standards, the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education has not reached level 2 inspection) and environmental criteria (the rate of families classifying solid waste at source has not reached 70%).
Kim Thanh district is one of the four localities with the fastest progress in building new rural districts in the province.
To strive to reach the goal of an advanced new rural district by 2025, Kim Thanh district is continuing to maintain and improve the quality of the achieved criteria. For the criteria that have not been achieved, the district will invest funds, speed up the progress of construction of medical stations and schools; strengthen propaganda to mobilize people to participate in voluntary health insurance, mobilize businesses to give health insurance cards to the poor and near-poor; deploy models of waste classification at home, etc.
Kim Thanh district has 2/17 communes meeting the model new rural standards; 11/17 communes have been recognized as meeting the advanced new rural standards. In 2024, the district assigned 3 communes: Tuan Viet to reach the advanced new rural standard; Kim Dinh and Dong Cam to reach the model new rural standard. Currently, the communes are completing the criteria and implementing the preparation of documents to request recognition according to regulations.
