National Assembly Meeting: Innovating the organization to meet voters' wishes

Besides the annual questioning activities, a notable new point of the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly is that the questions of delegates from the 14th term and from the 1st session of the 15th term up to now will be considered and discussed.

Accordingly, delegates and voters will review solutions and promises of ministers in previous question and answer sessions.

"The meeting is very important"

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the National Assembly meeting on the afternoon of October 23, Delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga, National Assembly Delegation of Hai Duong province, said she highly appreciated this session with very dense content and all important contents, a very important session.

The session will take a vote of confidence and review the Government's mid-term assessment reports. This is also an opportunity for the National Assembly to look back on the past term to accurately assess what has been done and what has not been done. On that basis, it will set out directions and tasks for the next half term to complete the Party Congress resolution.

According to the Russian delegate, questioning is a supervisory activity of the National Assembly to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the heads of sectors with assigned tasks as well as to require the sector commanders to propose solutions in the coming time to develop their sectors. Therefore, in the questioning sessions, National Assembly delegates always ask about the responsibilities of the ministers and the solutions and commitments of the ministers to overcome the weaknesses of the sector in the coming time.

“This session, in addition to the annual questioning like other sessions, is also an opportunity to review the questioning activities of the National Assembly since the beginning of the term, review the promises of the industry commanders before the National Assembly and voters, and compare whether the ministers have fulfilled the commitments they made to the delegates and voters in previous questioning sessions,” said delegate Nga.

As a National Assembly delegate who has participated in questioning many ministers, Nga said that he always monitors the implementation of the results and solutions to the existing problems of the sector commanders. Assessing that the ministers have made great efforts in performing their duties, according to Nga, reviewing the questionings of previous sessions is a necessary activity to further enhance the responsibility of the sector commanders in the issues that have been promised and committed.

Responding to voters' wishes

Changes in questioning activities at the 6th National Assembly session were also highly appreciated by delegate Thai Van Thanh, National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province.

According to delegate Thanh, the program of this National Assembly session has been designed very scientifically and methodically. In particular, reviewing the questioning sessions of the XIV session and the sessions from the beginning of the XV session until now is one of the necessary new points, in line with the wishes and aspirations of voters.

Questioning is an annual activity of the National Assembly and is one of the issues that voters are very interested in. One of the issues that voters are more interested in is that the questioning should not be left there, but voters must be able to monitor and know about the activities and developments after the questioning.

This session is mid-term, after half a year, half a term, the industry commanders need to answer how the issues promised and committed to the delegates and voters have been resolved by the minister.

“Therefore, this innovation is very correct, on target, and in line with the expectations of voters. Although it will put more pressure on industry leaders, it is very necessary. Management must be public, transparent, and effective, associated with the responsibility of the leader,” Mr. Thanh shared.

According to the National Assembly delegate of Nghe An province, he found that in general, the industry commanders are very responsible, dedicated and all have the desire to perform well the industry management role to contribute and serve the people.

Of course, there will be difficult problems that exist due to objective factors. There are problems that have objective factors and need more time for ministers to implement or need adjustments from related fields. Therefore, there needs to be accurate recognition and assessment,” said delegate Thanh.
