More than 38,700 cars were sold in October, Toyota was the best-selling

In October, total market sales reached 38,761 vehicles, up 6% over the previous month and 53% over the same period in 2023.

According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), of the 38,761 vehicles sold, there were 30,245 passenger cars; 8,290 commercial vehicles and 226 special-purpose vehicles. Passenger car sales increased by 4%; commercial vehicles increased by 13%, and special-purpose vehicles decreased by 8% compared to the previous month.

Of which, the number of domestically assembled cars sold reached 21,113, up 8% compared to the previous month, and the number of imported cars was 17,648, up 3%.

Toyota was the top-selling car brand in October with 8,736 cars sold, followed by Ford with 5,052 cars, Misubishi with 4,401 cars, Kia with 4,271 cars, Mazda with 3,933 cars, Honda with 3,606 cars, Isuzu with 1,275 cars and Suzuki with 739 cars sold.

With 2,131 cars sold in October, the Mitsubishi Xpander topped the list of best-selling cars, followed by the Honda Accord with 4 cars sold.

Total sales of the entire market by the end of October increased by 12% compared to the same period in 2023. Of which, passenger cars increased by 13%; commercial vehicles increased by 11% and specialized vehicles increased by 10% compared to 2023.

Sales of domestically assembled cars decreased by 3% while imported cars increased by 35% compared to the same period last year.

According to forecasts, the Vietnamese automobile market will continue to be vibrant in the last months of 2024 when a series of new car models are launched on the market, including Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Honda HR-V.

Supportive policies from the Government such as reduced registration fees and promotional programs from car manufacturers are expected to continue to be important factors in boosting sales, helping the market maintain strong growth momentum in the final months of the year.

3. Ford Ranger: 1,881 vehicles

4. Toyota Vios: 1,757 cars

5. Honda City: 1,670 cars

6. Toyota Yaris Cross: 1,510 cars

7. Mitsubishi Xforce: 1,481 vehicles

8. Hyundai Accent: 1,425 cars

9. Toyota Corolla Cross: 1,402 cars

10. Ford Everest: 1,281 vehicles
