Toyota Prado 2024 not sold yet but already priced at 500 million VND

Toyota Vietnam has not yet announced the launch date or price of the Land Cruiser Prado. The official distributor said it does not have the car yet, while private showrooms are offering it to customers at a price 500-600 million VND more than the retail price when Toyota announced it. These unofficial showrooms said the delivery date will be September or October.

The current generation Land Cruiser Prado costs 2.628 billion VND. The 2024 version continues to be imported from Japan.

The price channel situation of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2024 is similar to that of its predecessor Land Cruiser which was launched in August 2021. Due to limited supply, Land Cruiser is channeled from 700 million to more than 1 billion VND at the dealership. At that time, sales staff were often not assigned Land Cruiser sales targets. When the car arrived at the dealership, only managers and above knew whether the car had a customer or not. Currently, the sales method of Land Cruiser Prado is the same.

Toyota dealers said that the supply of the 2024 Cruiser Prado is also very limited. In February, when they started taking deposits for this model, dealers also said that they could not commit to selling it at the company's suggested price because it depends on the actual supply and demand. The boxy, masculine and nostalgic design of the new Land Cruiser Prado is said to be the point that attracts great attention from users.

Toyota's body-on-frame SUVs such as the Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado, or the corresponding luxury versions of the Lexus brand such as the LX and GX are all in limited supply. Currently, the newly launched GX model is also sold out at dealers.

The 2024 Land Cruiser Prado is the 5th generation of the E-size SUV line positioned below its elder brother, the Land Cruiser. The car has round or rectangular LED headlights depending on the version. Square taillights on both sides of the rear corner of the car. What's special is that the rear door can be opened in two parts: the glass part can be opened separately, or the entire rear door can be opened as usual.

The engine of the new Land Cruiser Prado in Vietnam is expected to be a 2.4 turbocharged type with a capacity of 326 horsepower and a torque of 630 Nm. This engine is supported by a 48 horsepower motor and operates with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Like all previous Land Cruiser Prado models, the Series 250 comes standard with full-time four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, as well as a centre differential and rear differential lock.

In Vietnam, the Land Cruiser Prado has no direct competitors due to its off-road orientation. With the same E-size SUV size as the Prado, there are models with a more urban orientation, such as the Ford Explorer and Volkswagen Teramont. With an angular, masculine design and off-road orientation like the Toyota model, there is the Jeep Wrangler imported from the US, priced from over 3.7 billion VND.
