The Vietnam Super Marathon 2024 was held for the first time in Mai Chau district, gathering more than 2,200 athletes from 38 countries to participate in the trail running challenge.
On March 23, the Vietnam Ultra Marathon 2024 took place in Ban Lac, Chieng Chau commune (Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh).
The tournament was held for the first time in Mai Chau district, gathering more than 2,200 athletes from 38 countries to participate in trail running challenges from the challenging 70km route to the friendly 5km distance.
After a day of exciting, enthusiastic and fascinating competition, the championships in the competition categories were awarded to the most dedicated and deserving athletes.
Specifically, in the 70km distance, first prize (female) belongs to athlete Cush Kathryn (Australia), first prize (male) belongs to athlete John Ray Onifa (Philippines).
50km distance, first prize (female) belongs to athlete Vanja Cnops (Belgium), (male) belongs to athlete Iurii Shtankov (Russian Federation).
25km distance, first prize (female) belongs to athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh (Vietnam); (male) belongs to athlete Randolf Gonzales (Philippines).
10km distance, first prize (female) belongs to athlete Kiera Bailey (UK), (male) is athlete Nong Van Chuyen (Vietnam).
5km distance, first prize (female) belongs to athlete Bui Thi Lan (Vietnam), first prize (male) belongs to athlete Nguyen Ngoc Anh (Vietnam).
The organizers said that the Vietnam Super Marathon 2024 was a great success. With diverse tourism infrastructure, beautiful trails, unique culture, rich cuisine and convenient transportation, Mai Chau has become a great destination for athletes as well as families and friends to experience.
The running route is designed to give athletes a new image of Mai Chau with interesting differences that few people know about.
The event is expected to be held annually in the following years in Mai Chau district. This is an opportunity for Hoa Binh province to introduce to domestic and international friends about Mai Chau tourist area with its potentials and advantages that need to be exploited to promote the development of the tourist area in the area.
Thereby affirming "Mai Chau - attractive - friendly - safe destination"; at the same time, creating a playground to promote the movement of training and competing in sports in general and Marathon running in particular, connecting and exchanging local and international cultures.
