More than 100 hectares of winter-spring rice are infected

Over the past few days, cloudy weather, drizzle, and high humidity have caused about 100 hectares of winter-spring rice to be infected. Many types of pests have also appeared on vegetables and caused scattered damage.

Specifically, more than 100 hectares of rice were infected with blast disease with an average disease rate of 1-5%, high 7-10%. Sheath blight disease caused scattered damage with an infected area of ​​about 78 hectares, disease rate of 5-10%, high places from 15-20% of the number of stalks. In addition, powdery mildew, downy mildew, green worms, root rot... caused scattered damage to vegetables. Fall armyworm caused minor damage to corn.

According to the forecast of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, in the coming days, rice blast disease will continue to develop and cause increased damage, especially on rice varieties such as glutinous rice, TBR225, BC15... in areas of Kim Thanh, Binh Giang, Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien districts... The second generation of small leaf roller larvae has begun to hatch and cause scattered damage. Other pests continue to arise and cause severe damage to vegetables.

To prevent pests on rice and vegetables, the District Agricultural Service Center needs to strengthen the investigation and monitoring of pests. Especially rats, rice blast disease, rice leaf rollers, fruit borers, mealybugs, inchworms, and downy mildew on litchi and longan. Instruct farmers to properly implement measures to care for and prevent pests on crops, especially rice, litchi, longan... Demarcate areas to prevent rice blast disease and rice leaf rollers, to avoid widespread spraying by farmers. Districts with concentrated corn areas need to continue to monitor and instruct farmers to prevent fall armyworms, especially on newly planted corn areas.
