Today, the National Assembly approved the appointment of the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Transport.

Late in the afternoon of November 27, the Prime Minister submitted to the National Assembly a proposal to approve the dismissal of Mr. Ho Duc Phoc from the position of Minister of Finance and Mr. Nguyen Van Thang from the position of Minister of Transport. Currently, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc is concurrently holding the position of Minister of Finance and Mr. Nguyen Van Thang is expected to take on new duties.

Previously, at the conference on the morning of November 25, the Central Committee gave opinions on personnel for the Politburo to introduce to the 15th National Assembly for approval of the positions of Minister of Finance and Minister of Transport.

In addition, the National Assembly will also elect members of the Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, and Head of the National Assembly Office, as Mr. Bui Van Cuong has been dismissed from his position as member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary General of the National Assembly.

Also on November 28, the National Assembly will discuss the draft revised Law on Corporate Income Tax; vote to pass a Resolution on piloting the handling of evidence and assets during the investigation, prosecution and trial of a number of criminal cases and the revised Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking; discuss the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations and the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on reducing value-added tax.
