Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee has set a target of completing 1,572 social housing units for low-income people and industrial park workers by the end of 2030.
On November 21, information from the People's Committee of Hau Giang province said that this locality has just issued a plan to implement investment in building social housing for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030.
Accordingly, Hau Giang sets a target of completing 1,572 social housing units by the end of 2030.
In Hau Giang, there are 3 social housing projects being implemented. Of which, the social housing project in Mai Dam hamlet (Dai Thanh commune, Nga Bay city) with an area of over 11 hectares is currently clearing the land, and is expected to complete 100 units by 2025 and 503 units in the 2026-2030 period.
In addition, there is a social housing project in 20% of the residential land fund of the Vi Thanh Commercial Residential Area Project (Ward 4, Vi Thanh City) with an area of over 7.1 hectares, 509 units, the master plan has not been approved yet, and the investor has not been identified.
The third is the social housing project in Mai Dam town industrial park (Chau Thanh district) with an area of over 3.2 hectares, 460 units, and the investment policy was approved in mid-March 2022.
To achieve the goal, the People's Committee of Hau Giang province proposed many solutions such as enhancing the responsibility of heads of relevant departments, branches and localities. At the same time, promoting the completion of the legal basis under the authority of the locality, strengthening the reform of administrative procedures related to investment in social housing construction to improve the investment environment.
The province also strictly manages and handles violations of progress in the commitments of investors in implementing social housing projects. On the other hand, it strengthens the management of the social housing market and the exploitation, publicity and operation of social housing in the province.
