Thousands of people braved the rain to return to the Hung Kings' death anniversary.

Before the incense offering ceremony, it rained heavily, however thousands of people braved the rain to participate in the incense offering ceremony.

After President Vo Van Thuong and other senior leaders of the Party and State performed the ceremony, the barrier was opened at around 7:30 a.m. for people and tourists to go up Nghia Linh mountain to offer incense and pay respect to their ancestors. At the time when Phu Tho province, on behalf of compatriots, soldiers nationwide and overseas Vietnamese, solemnly organized the incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings in the year of Quy Mao 2023, the rain stopped.

After the morning rain, the cool weather made the incense offering journey more pleasant for the people. The majority of people and tourists followed the recommendations to wear masks, actively prevent COVID-19, and stay in the right lane, so there was no loss of security and order.

This year, Phu Tho province will organize the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day at the provincial level, including both the ceremony and the festival. As of April 28, or the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month, Phu Tho is expected to welcome more than 3 million visitors to visit and offer incense to the Hung Kings. The number of visitors may increase sharply during the main holiday and the April 30-May 1 holiday, with an estimated number of nearly 6 million people.
