Hai Phong City People's Committee commended and rewarded the coach and shooter who won the gold medal at ASIAD 19, with a total prize value of 335 million VND.
On the afternoon of October 3, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City held a conference to commend and reward coaches and athletes with outstanding achievements at the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD).
The 19th Asian Games were held in Hangzhou, China from September 16 to October 9. The Vietnamese Sports Delegation attended with 504 members. Hai Phong Sports was honored to have 3 athletes participating in 2 events including shooting and rowing.
Delegates attending the Conference commended and rewarded coaches and athletes with outstanding achievements at the 19th ASIAD.
Participating in 2 competitions at the Asian Games, shooter Pham Quang Huy, a shooting athlete from Hai Phong, won 1 gold medal in the men's 10m individual air pistol event and 1 bronze medal in the men's 10m team air pistol event.
This is the first time in the 40-year history of Vietnamese Shooting that it has won a gold medal at the Asian Games, and is also a great honor for the sports industry.
Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Khac Nam awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee to coach Pham Cao Son and athlete Pham Quang Huy.
To encourage individuals who have achieved excellent results at the Asian Games, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City decided to reward athlete Pham Quang Huy 167.5 million VND and coach Pham Cao Son (Deputy Head of the Department of Training Management, Politics, Ideology and Head of the Shooting Department - Sports Training and Competition Center under the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong) 167.5 million VND.
Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Khac Nam praised the efforts, hard work, determination, will and competitive spirit of shooter Pham Quang Huy.
Speaking at the commendation and reward conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam emphasized that the outstanding achievement of shooter Nguyen Quang Huy has marked an important milestone for the country's sports, for the first time in the 40-year history of Vietnamese Shooting, there was a Gold Medal at the Asian Games.
This is also the 15th gold medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the Asian Games. This excellent achievement has affirmed the tradition of developing high-performance sports, becoming the pride of Hai Phong sports.
The Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee praised the efforts, hard work, determination, will and competitive spirit of shooter Pham Quang Huy; thanked and acknowledged the family, parents and master shooter Pham Cao Son for giving him the strength, power and determination to achieve this valuable achievement.
