The 5th meeting of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee in April on the morning of April 22 reviewed the plan for the first round of mineral exploitation auctions in the province in 2024, including the auction of mineral exploitation rights in the Dai Bo hill area.
Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee agreed to only conduct auctions of mineral exploitation rights at Dai Bo hill. to ensure filling materials for construction projects in the province. The Mieu Danh and Doc Dau areas will be left behind and considered for auction in the next round. The reason is that the minerals in this area are mainly clay, kaolin, etc. for production.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to complete the draft plan for the first round of mineral auctions in 2024 and promptly consult the Provincial People's Committee for approval to implement the next steps. The auction must be carried out urgently to promptly meet the shortage of filling materials.
According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the province currently has 23 areas where mineral exploitation rights can be auctioned. Including 2 areas without any problems, the auction can be conducted immediately; 7 areas are eligible for auction but the reserves are small, the access is not convenient, causing difficulties for exploitation; 14 areas are not eligible for immediate auction. Based on legal regulations and the actual situation, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment proposes to conduct mineral exploitation auctions at Dai Bo hill and Mieu Danh, Doc Dau areas (Chi Linh) with reserves of nearly 16 million m3.
