Hai Duong supports nearly 4 billion VND for 2 communes to pilot the model of waste classification at source.

The Provincial People's Committee has just agreed with the proposal of the joint sector of Natural Resources and Environment - Finance to allow the pilot implementation of the model of classifying household waste at source in Cam Van commune (Cam Giang) and Thanh Hai commune (Thanh Ha).
The pilot implementation period is 12 months (from November 1, 2023 to November 1, 2024). The provincial budget supports nearly 4 billion VND, of which more than 1.5 billion VND is supported for Cam Giang district, the rest is supported for Thanh Ha district.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of Cam Giang and Thanh Ha districts to guide these communes to implement the project effectively, economically and in accordance with regulations. Directed the specialized departments of the district and the People's Committees of the communes to pilot the project, closely coordinate with the units collecting, transporting and treating inorganic waste to strictly implement the delivery and receipt process and supervise the delivery and treatment of waste in accordance with current regulations.

According to local calculations, Cam Van commune has 9,344 people (2,593 households), the expected amount of domestic waste generated is about 5 tons/day, the estimated amount of waste transported to the factory after classification is about 593 tons/year. Thanh Hai commune has a population of 13,897 people (3,942 households), the expected amount of domestic waste generated is 8 tons/day, the estimated amount of waste transported to the factory after classification is about 883 tons/year.
