After hacking into the above accounts, Truong read the internal communications within the company and discovered the website addresses of MGI's customers in the United States. Then, Truong created an anonymous email to impersonate himself as a hacker group in Japan and sent threatening messages to the emails of MGI's partner employees in the United States.

In addition to attacking the websites of MGI's partners, Nguyen Nhat Truong also carried out 3 attacks on 2 websites managed by MGI, causing a constant threat to MGI's system.

Previously, on July 1, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department initiated a case and prosecuted Duong Minh Tam (27 years old, residing in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) for using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to commit property appropriation.

Investigation results determined that on June 21, Ho Chi Minh City Police received a crime report from a bank about Tam illegally accessing the financial and banking information system to commit property appropriation.

During the investigation, on June 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department urgently arrested Duong Minh Tam and searched his house.

Initially, the investigation agency determined that on November 23, 2022, Tam opened a payment account at the above bank. On May 23, Tam registered an account via the bank's application on his mobile phone. Tam then continued to open an online savings account on the application with a value of one million VND.

According to the bank's regulations, Tam can mortgage his savings book to borrow online on the application with a maximum amount of 85% of the value of the savings book but not exceeding 2 billion VND/loan. By mortgaging a savings book of 1 million VND, Tam can only borrow a maximum of 850,000 VND.

However, Tam illegally interfered with the financial information system of this bank, editing the code of the collateral asset, a savings book worth one million VND, to more than 51 billion VND.

From May 23 to June 9, Tam withdrew money from the above banking system 7 times, transferred it to his own account and appropriated 10 billion VND. Tam then withdrew 6.5 billion VND to spend, pay debts and buy virtual currency; the remaining amount that had not been withdrawn was discovered by the bank and the account was frozen.
