On the morning of January 24, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee and the Department of Transport of Hai Duong province held a conference to review traffic safety and transport work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.

Attending and directing the conference, Comrade Luu Van Ban, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, acknowledged the positive changes in traffic safety work in the province, the number of deaths due to traffic accidents has decreased. However, the number of traffic accidents and the number of people injured due to traffic accidents still increased.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in order to develop the socio-economy, traffic infrastructure must be one step ahead. Affirming that no term has traffic infrastructure developed as much as the 2020-2025 term, he assessed that the province has paid attention to investing in traffic infrastructure development in recent times, with a series of traffic projects being implemented in localities in the province connecting inter-regional and inter-provincial connections. To ensure safety on traffic routes, in the coming time, relevant units need to continue to study and advise the province to overcome potential traffic accident risks. In handling violations of traffic safety corridors, good coordination between localities and the transport sector is needed. Do a good job of eliminating self-opened paths and railway crossings. Complete planning documents related to inland waterway traffic. Strengthen state management of passenger transport to ensure compliance with the law, fairness and convenience for people.

According to the report of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, in 2023, the whole province had 239 traffic accidents and collisions, killing 124 people and injuring 153 people. Compared to 2022, there were 82 more traffic accidents and collisions, 3 fewer deaths and 85 more injuries.
