Violence still occurs frequently in Syria.
Most recently, an arms depot northeast of Damascus exploded, causing many casualties. The explosion occurred on the morning of August 15 (local time) at a missile and ammunition depot in the northeast of Damascus, which is an area of activity of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.
On August 11, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that at least 23 Syrian soldiers were killed and 10 wounded in an attack on a military bus. The self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) later admitted to being behind the incident.
