According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in June, businesses imported 15,890 complete cars, an increase of 6.4% over the previous month.
Notably, the average price of imported cars in the first two quarters of 2024 is about 529 million VND, nearly 11% lower than the same period last year.
According to the General Department of Customs, Indonesia is still the largest market supplying completely built-up cars to Vietnam with 32,797 units, up 26% over the same period last year, with an average price of about 371 million VND/unit. Next is Thailand with 23,736 units, with an average price of 497 million VND/unit. In third place is China with 14,729 cars of all kinds exported to Vietnam in the first two quarters of the year, up 152% over the same period last year. In June alone, Chinese car imports reached 2,882 units, up 115% over the same period in 2023.
