Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed and issued Document No. 724/TTg-CN dated September 28, 2024, on extending the pilot period for deploying diving service activities in Nha Trang Bay.
Accordingly, in order to have more time to complete legal regulations related to submarine service activities, the Deputy Prime Minister agreed to extend the pilot period of submarine service activities in Nha Trang Bay according to the proposal of the Ministry of Transport (maximum pilot period until March 30, 2025).
The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of National Defense, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, Vinpearl Joint Stock Company and relevant agencies to be responsible for performing the tasks assigned in Official Dispatch No. 635/TTg-CN dated July 12, 2023, organizing the management of diving service activities in Nha Trang Bay, Khanh Hoa province, complying with current regulations on security, national defense and relevant legal regulations; regularly monitoring and inspecting the operation of vehicles and other support activities to ensure absolute safety.
Vinpearl Joint Stock Company and related agencies and units have plans to ensure safety, prevent incidents, rescue and take responsibility according to the law if there is any unsafety during the implementation of diving service activities in Nha Trang Bay.
The Ministry of Transport closely coordinates with the Government Office in the process of completing and submitting to competent authorities for promulgation of legal documents related to submersible service activities.
* The Prime Minister has approved in principle the pilot implementation of the diving service in Nha Trang Bay in Official Dispatch No. 1505/TTg-CN dated October 30, 2020.
According to Vinpearl Joint Stock Company's report, from April 30, 2022 to September 12, 2022, Vinpearl Company successfully organized and implemented 713 diving trips (including: test diving, training, and welcoming guests); a total of 2,708 guests participated in the tourist diving service in Hon Mot area, Nha Trang Bay.
Passenger diving trips are carried out safely, without incident, ensuring service quality and customer experience. The use of submersible services serves many groups such as the elderly, children, domestic and foreign customers,... adding a new and highly educational tourism model.
In order to facilitate business operations, improve the business environment, enhance quality, diversify services, attract tourists and contribute to developing tourism into a key economic sector, the Ministry of Transport has proposed that the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha consider extending the pilot period of diving activities in Nha Trang Bay until the full promulgation of legal documents regulating the management of diving vessels operating in tourism activities in Vietnam's seaport waters.
