The world professional footballers' union (FIFPro) has just promised to help Nigerian female players claim money owed over the past two years.
“FIFPro can confirm that we are supporting the players who are in dispute with the Nigerian Football Federation over the payment of bonuses, allowances and expenses from 2021. During the World Cup, the players expressed their desire to continue to focus on playing and did not want to cause internal instability. However, the players believe that the time has come for them to be respected and paid the money they are owed,” Reuters news agency quoted FIFPro as saying.

The strategist recalled that the Nigerian Football Federation has been owed salaries for the past 7 months. Waldrum also revealed that many players have had to play and train without pay for a period of 2 years.
