Recently, Faeger Japan Company and Inno-Agri Vietnam Co., Ltd. conducted a field survey and worked with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong to explore cooperation opportunities to implement carbon credit projects in rice production areas in the province.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has introduced locations and localities that can pilot the carbon credit model in areas with rice production scale of less than 100 hectares. If implemented, the province will build 10-20 experimental areas with a total area of 1,000-2,000 hectares/crop.
Feager Japan and its partner Inno-Agri Vietnam Co., Ltd. wish to cooperate in piloting carbon emission reduction projects in Hai Duong's rice fields to promote the transfer and dissemination of low-carbon emission technologies towards green growth, sustainable agricultural development and support the implementation of international commitments on greenhouse gas emission reduction of Japan, including Vietnam.
Faeger Japan operates in the field of developing emission reduction projects and trading carbon credits in agriculture. Currently, Feager has the largest number of carbon credit projects in Japan. The company's carbon credit projects are also certified by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as eligible to participate in Japan's Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM).
Hai Duong currently has 54,000 hectares of rice production per crop, with an average rice yield of 63-64 quintals/ha, and an estimated output of 685,000 tons.
