According to Xinhua News Agency, on March 29, the 2024 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference ended in Boao, Hainan Province (China).
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Boao Forum for Asia Secretary General Li Baodong affirmed that cooperation is the best way to address common challenges facing countries around the world. These challenges include economic stagnation and persistent regional conflicts. Li Baodong emphasized that Asia is leading a new era of sustainable development.
At the forum, the parties agreed that innovation is a constant driving force for development, and countries around the world need to accelerate action to respond to climate change.
The 2024 BFA Annual Meeting will take place from March 26-29 under the theme "Asia and the World: Shared Challenges, Shared Responsibilities". In addition to the annual meeting, this year's Boao Forum for Asia will hold a series of thematic forums such as the Global Health Forum, the International Science and Technology and Innovation Forum, the Global Economic Security and Development Forum, the Rural Revitalization Forum, and will host many regional cooperation conferences in Asia and other countries.
The conference attracted about 2,000 delegates from more than 60 countries and territories, along with more than 1,100 journalists from nearly 40 countries and territories.
Established in 2001, BFA is a non-governmental, non-profit international organization committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals.
