Hung Yen is the first locality to announce detailed plans for admission to grade 10 public high schools for the 2024-2025 school year with 3 exam subjects.
The People's Committee of Hung Yen province has just announced the schedule and plan for admission to grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year. Accordingly, the entrance exam to grade 10 next year will take place from June 3-5 with 3 subjects: Math, Literature, and English.
Thus, compared to the present, the number of 10th grade exams in Hung Yen has decreased by two subjects. The 10th grade entrance exam in 2023 of this province will take place with three exams: Math, Literature and a combination. The combination exam includes three subjects: English, Natural Science (randomly choosing one of the three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Science (randomly choosing one of the three subjects: History, Geography, Civic Education).
The province also stipulates that the entrance exam for grade 10 of Hung Yen's non-specialized and specialized public high schools is organized jointly.
The first locality announced the 10th grade entrance exam schedule in 2024
Candidates taking the entrance exam to Hung Yen Specialized High School take 4 exams, including 3 common exams with the entrance exam for grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools and 1 specialized subject exam.
Specifically, on the afternoon of June 3, candidates will go to the examination room to complete exam registration procedures, correct errors (if any) and listen to the announcement of exam regulations and schedule.
On the morning of June 4, candidates will take the Literature exam in essay form for 120 minutes, and in the afternoon, the Math exam in multiple choice form for 90 minutes.
On the morning of June 5, candidates took the 60-minute multiple-choice English test. In the afternoon of the same day, candidates took the specialized subject test for 150 minutes.
The province also stated that the exam content is within the scope of the secondary school program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, mainly in grade 9. The admission requirements are students who have graduated from secondary school in the general education program, within the age range specified in the current regulations of secondary schools, high schools and general schools with multiple levels.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, public grade 10 enrollment is assigned to localities. The Department of Education and Training is the advisory body, submitting to the People's Committee of the province or city for approval of the number of subjects, form of examination or admission.
In the 2023-2024 school year plan, the Ministry requires localities to consider recognizing junior high school graduation for students before June 30 and complete primary school enrollment before July 31.
