In 2022, Moc Chau district, Son La province will be recognized as "Asia's Leading Regional Natural Destination" and "World's Leading Natural Destination."

This is not only an honor but also an important milestone, creating motivation for the district to continue promoting, exploiting and developing natural and cultural values, developing tourism more and more, affirming its position on the world tourism map.

In the tourism development space of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region of the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy, Moc Chau National Tourist Area including Moc Chau and Van Ho districts is considered one of the most important tourist areas on the "through the Northwest" tourism corridor.

Moc Chau National Tourist Area will be built to form three key tourist centers including: Moc Chau Resort Center, Moc Chau Eco-tourism Center and Moc Chau Entertainment Center.

The service system in Moc Chau National Tourist Area has been invested and improved to meet the needs of a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

In 2022, the district welcomed over 1.5 million visitors; revenue from tourism activities reached over 1,720 billion VND.

In January 2023 alone, the number of tourists coming to Moc Chau is estimated at 225,000, with revenue reaching 247.5 billion VND.

Currently, the tourism program has been connected to pristine community tourism destinations with hospitable people in Ang village, Doi village, Vat village, Ta So village of Moc Chau district; Phu Mau village, Hua Tat village of Van Ho district; eco-tourism, agriculture in O Long tea fields, Shan Tuyet tea; conquering Pha Luong mountain peak...

Tourist Maya Lou, California, USA, shared that she has been to Moc Chau many times. Tourism here is increasingly developing, infrastructure is improved, the restaurant and hotel system is also good and Moc Chau cuisine has many delicious dishes.

With the motto of developing tourism while still preserving the traditional cultural identity, units, companies and enterprises have exploited the potential and advantages, developed unique types of cultural, ecological and resort tourism, and built a friendly and hospitable image of Moc Chau tourism.

Currently, Moc Chau district is focusing on building a master plan and detailed plans for routes, points, and tourist areas until 2025, with a vision to 2030; strengthening promotion and attracting domestic and foreign investment capital into the tourism sector, especially high-end projects, ensuring synchronous tourism infrastructure and facilities in harmony with the landscape.

In addition, the district prioritizes the development and implementation of product strategies, especially strong products with the ability to compete in cultural, ecological, resort, adventure sports, cave exploration tourism; building smart tourism applications, virtual reality tourism, etc.; reviewing, mobilizing, and guiding tourism service businesses to prepare documents to request recognition of meeting customer service standards.

According to Chairman of Moc Chau District People's Committee Le Trong Binh, becoming "The World's Leading Natural Destination" is not only an honor, but also an important milestone for the district to continue promoting, exploiting and developing cultural and natural values.

To maintain this title, Moc Chau district has planned and preserved tea growing areas, grasslands, and protected forests, ensuring compliance with the planning to maintain the natural landscape in the district.

Along with that, in developing community tourism, tourism associated with farms, associated with nature... the district is focusing on using environmentally friendly materials associated with the cultural identity of ethnic groups, highlighting the unique features of the district.

The district is also focusing on building a master plan and detailed plans for tourist routes and destinations, promoting investment and tourism, thereby attracting more and more investors and tourists to Moc Chau.
