Also receiving a lot of interaction with photos capturing a series of "difficult" expressions of tourists when tasting the first plums of the season in Moc Chau, Mr. Hiep Cuver (tour guide in Hanoi) said that most plum gardens currently have very few ripe fruits, the fruits are still small and green.

“In Na Ka valley, many plum gardens were affected by the hailstorm a few days ago, causing significant fruit loss. Even if we went through the whole garden, we could only harvest about 10kg of plums,” said Mr. Hiep.

In Moc Chau, there are currently dozens of plum gardens from large to small, distributed everywhere such as the plum valleys of Mu Nau, Na Ka, Phieng Khoang, Co Keo, ... or in Moc Chau Farm town.

Early season plums are both sour and astringent, but many tourists still "risk" enjoying them.

Although Moc Chau plums are still more than a month away from being officially ripe, many tourists have already come to the garden to "hunt" for the first plums of the season, experience picking them and check-in under the lush green trees.

“Plums in Moc Chau at the beginning of the season are still green and a bit sour, the fruit is also small but I want to enjoy it right away and right away as a specialty of the highlands here so I don’t mind trying it. The plums are quite sour, not easy to eat but if dipped with sour and spicy salt or other spices, the flavor is also attractive”, Thuy Anh – a tourist from Hanoi humorously commented.

It is expected that during the upcoming April 30 holiday, Moc Chau plums will be fully ripe to serve guests.

Ms. Hoang Thi Quy, owner of a plum garden in Cho Long Hamlet, Moc Chau Farm Town, said that on weekends, the garden welcomes hundreds of visitors. Most of the visitors are looking to buy early-season plums, even though these plums are much more sour and astringent than plums in season.

According to Ms. Quy, early ripe plums are very rare, garden owners have to "struggle with their necks and eyes" to find them. However, tourists enjoy this activity and still feel excited and happy even though they spend an hour going around the garden and only find 10-15 ripe fruits to enjoy.

The ideal time to take pictures, visit and experience Moc Chau plum gardens is early morning or late afternoon. At this time, the weather is cool and the sunlight is not too harsh.

Although the early season plums are not yet suitable for enjoyment, the weather in Moc Chau at this time is quite pleasant and cool, so many tourists still come here to experience and visit.

Many families from Hai Phong, Hanoi, etc. travel hundreds of kilometers to bring their children here to camp and breathe the fresh air.

When visiting the plum garden and experiencing fruit picking, visitors can bring along salt, spices to eat with their preferences. In particular, only pick ripe fruit, pick as much as you can to avoid waste and preserve the landscape for future visitors.

It is known that the entrance fee to visit the plum garden and take photos ranges from 20,000 - 50,000 VND/person, depending on the garden. Visitors can rent costumes of Thai, Mong ethnic groups... to have more beautiful, eye-catching photos.
