In the context of escalating tensions between Israel and the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, on September 23, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel issued recommendations on security and safety measures for the Vietnamese community living, working and studying there.
The announcement stated: Continuously on September 22-23, Hezbollah forces attacked about 150-160 rockets and drones every day on all cities in northern Israel, some places 50 km from the border (in the cities of Haifa, Nazareth, Afula, Jezreel Valley...).
This is believed to be the largest and deepest attack on Israeli territory by Hezbollah forces since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023.
The attack was in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on southern Beirut on the night of September 20, which killed Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Akil.
Responding to the escalating tensions, the Israel Defense Forces also significantly increased their extensive attacks on some 300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon on September 23.
The retaliatory attacks on each other with increasing intensity and scale have made the conflict between the two sides increasingly complicated.
Given the above situation and to ensure absolute safety, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel recommends that the Vietnamese community here regularly follow the latest news in Israel on reputable local media. Avoid going to areas that do not ensure security and safety, areas at risk of attacks by Hezbollah forces, especially northern Israel.
The Vietnamese community throughout Israel, especially those living in cities in northern Israel, must strictly comply with regulations and instructions on security and safety measures of the local authorities. Proactively develop plans and strategies to ensure security and safety for yourself and your loved ones in the current war context.
Regularly maintain contact with the Embassy. In case of emergency, need support and need information about citizen protection plans, citizens are requested to contact the citizen protection hotline.
