21 victims have been identified in the scam of selling and renting tracking and monitoring software.

The Investigation Police Agency, Hai Duong Provincial Police, has issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and issue an arrest warrant to temporarily detain 3 subjects in Vinh Phuc province, including: Do Viet Hung, born in 1989, in Dong Hoa 1 residential group, Dong Tam ward; Dao Thanh Binh, born in 1991, in Khai Quang ward, Vinh Yen city; Le Truong Giang, born in 2000, in Hoang Oanh village, Huong Son commune, Binh Xuyen district for the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.

Previously, on June 21, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency, Hai Duong Provincial Police received a case of fraud in the form of fake sales of phone tracking and monitoring software on social networks.

The investigation results determined that from May 8 to June 20, 2023, the defendants defrauded and appropriated property from many people by pretending to sell phone tracking and monitoring software via social networks. After receiving the money, the defendants would block communication and appropriate the victims' money.

So far, the authorities have proven that the defendants committed fraud and appropriated VND135.3 million from 21 victims nationwide. In addition, information on a number of accounts that transferred money to the defendants has not been clarified and has been transferred to local police for verification.

Currently, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency, Hai Duong Provincial Police has completed the file to transfer to the Provincial People's Procuracy to propose prosecuting the above defendants for fraud and property appropriation.
